Silent whale watching in Húsavík(14:00) (Y1C)

Experience whale watching up close aboard a silent, electric-powered boat in Skjálfandi Bay, Húsavík, in northern Iceland. The quiet motor allows you to get very close to the whales without disturbing them.

Onboard, the guide will share insights about the whales' lives and explain how the boat’s eco-friendly technology minimises impact on the animals. Unlike standard whale watching tours, the whales aren’t disturbed by loud engines, allowing you to experience their world in a more respectful and sustainable way. Listening for the sounds of humpback and blue whales makes the experience even more special.

While sightings cannot be guaranteed, 97.2% of tours in recent years have successfully spotted whales. The tour ends with hot chocolate and freshly baked cinnamon buns.

Equipment and clothing
On this excursion it is very important that you dress for the Icelandic weather which can be very changeable and often quite harsh: don’t forget to take a cap and gloves! Be sure to also take good shoes that will keep your feet warm and dry. Warm overalls are provided. And don’t forget your camera!
