Day description
Arrive in Oslo and transfer to your hotel

Arrive in Oslo, the beautiful Norwegian capital by the Oslofjord. Getting from Oslo Airport to the city center is easy, and you can choose between buses, taxis, local trains, and express trains. Flytoget's airport fast trains run every ten minutes almost all day, and the direct trains to Oslo Central Station take only 19 minutes. After checking in at your hotel, we recommend a walk around the center of town to view the Parliament and the Castle. Other places of interest are Oslo City Hall, Oslo Opera House, and the Aker Brygge area.
Discover Oslo

After breakfast, head out to explore more of Oslo. From the breathtaking views of the harbor to the stunning sculptures throughout the city, Oslo will captivate and inspire all who visit. Spend your day exploring unique museums, wandering through vibrant neighborhoods, or joining optional activities. Spending one day discovering Oslo is sure to be a memorable experience.
A must-visit is the impressive Vigeland Sculpture Park. Spanning over 80 acres and containing more than 200 sculptures designed by Gustav Vigeland, this park is a must-see for any art enthusiast. The sculptures are made from bronze, granite, and wrought iron, depicting human figures in various poses that evoke emotions and wonder. From its impressive monuments to its lush gardens, the Vigeland Sculpture Park offers visitors an unforgettable journey into Norwegian artistry. The park is free to enter and open all year round, 24 hours a day.
On a nice day, we recommend you go on a kayak tour ( approx. 1.5 hours) down the Akerselva River. Oslo has many stunning natural sights, and the best way to take in it all is by going on a kayak tour on the Akerselva River. Gliding on this idyllic river provides an intimate connection with nature and offers a chance to explore Oslo from a different perspective. No paddling experience is required.
Are you looking for an unforgettable experience in Oslo, Norway? Then a sweaty 2.5 hours sauna session at SALT should be on your to-do list. In the city’s heart, SALT is an art and music festival in a pyramid-shaped building offering various services designed to pamper and relax. If you want a more local authentic experience, take a sauna session in one of the floating saunas around the city. Heat yourself up in the sauna before cooling off with a dip in the fjord. It is a lovely experience not to miss while you are in Oslo.
For some cultural experience, spend the afternoon at one of the city’s museums. The Viking Ship and Kontiki museums are favorites among families. Surprise them by taking them to the new SNO indoor ski center if you have older kids. There, they can experience the thrill of skiing, snowboarding and ice climbing.
Before tonight’s dinner at one of Oslo’s local restaurants, stroll up and around the slanted roof of the Oslo Opera at the harbor. The idea is that Norway’s nature and mountains are free to use and that the opera house roof should follow the same principle. You can walk on the top anytime you want to, free of charge. It beautifully lits up at night, and the scenic view over the fjord is lovely.
If you are a foodie, book a table at the three-star Michelin restaurant Maaemo or Restaurant Kontrast, which has one Michelin star.
