If you visit Mývatn during the summer months, you can bathe under the midnight sun, which barely sets. In winter, you have the chance to witness the northern lights dancing across the night sky as you float in the warm water. The characteristic smell of sulphur from the geothermal springs adds to the authentic atmosphere.
Mývatn Nature Baths are well-maintained, though the facility is simpler and does not offer the same modern luxury as other spas. The focus here is on the power and beauty of nature. Finish your visit with local delicacies at the café, overlooking the wild landscape.
