Beautiful scenery and wildlife can been seen on this trip to Snæfellsnes, the peninsula on Iceland’s western tip where the glacier covered volcano Snæfellsjökul reigns.

This trip is perfect for nature-lovers. The journey starts off with a coach trip to Stykkishólmur on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, where you will board a boat taking you out to the beautiful bay of Breiðafjörður. You are surrounding by mighty mountains and can enjoy the rich bird life up close, including puffins, cormorants, the white tailed eagle, kittiwakes, eider ducks and more.

The area around Snæfellsnes and Breiðafjörður is often described as the most beautiful in Iceland, with mystical stretches of barren landscape, lava formations and golden beaches.



You will make a stop and pull up some fishing nets and get to taste fresh shellfish. En route; an unforgettable stop at Bjarnarhöfn is made, where the old national delicacy “cured shark” is prepared for consumption, as well as shark liver oil. An unforgettable experience in terms of smell!
You also get to visit the settler’s museum, where you get an overview of how Iceland as a nation came to be and was formed throughout the year in its North Atlantic location.
