ATV & Plane Wreck (2 hrs/no pich-up) (AG402)
Set off on a 2-hour ATV adventure starting at Mýrdalsjökull, where you’ll meet your guide and be equipped with a helmet, overalls, and a balaclava for a safe and comfortable experience.
After a brief safety briefing, you’ll head off to explore Iceland’s famous black beaches and the legendary plane wreck at Sólheimasandur. As you ride along the dramatic coastline, you can enjoy stunning views of glaciers and rugged landscapes, including the Dyrhólaey peninsula and Mýrdalsjökull glacier in the distance. You’ll stop at the DC3 plane wreck, which made an emergency landing on Sólheimasandur in 1973 and has since become a well-known landmark on the volcanic sands.
From there, you’ll continue to the Jökulsá River and up along the foot of a nearby mountain. The tour concludes as you return to the base after an exciting day of discoveries in Iceland’s unique landscape.
